PROJECT ORIGINS

This project is inspired by my father’s hometown; a small village by the sea where high tides are one of the major problem forcing family to part, homes to destroy and eat away the lands. As a solution to this natural disater the villagers build wooden still houses to keep the water away from getting in the house. Some houses are made of all wood to easily take apart and build it elsewhere. There are no strangers in the village so houses are often left open with a seating area under the houses for people to socialise and interact.

The style of the house is mixed with Mon/Burmese trational architecture traits and modern architecture. My other aim of this project is also to experiment with more sustainable products to help with enviromental issues.
